The principal objects of the Confederation are:

• Providing a forum for consultations among African employers
  
  
• Co-operating with continental and international bodies
  
  
• Raising the social consciousness of African employers about their role in the improvement of society
  
  
• Promoting, advocating and protecting the interests of African employers at all suitable fora
  
  
• Developing strong and independent national and regional employers' organisations
  
  
• Collecting and collating economic and social data that are of benefit to members
  
  
• Promoting a vocational and professional traning culture
  
  
• Promoting industrial peace and sound human resource management and general management practices throughout the member countries
  
  
• Promoting respect for principles underlying the economic and social development of every African country
